A cracking day.
Rain, sun, rain, sun, very wet, not so wet, nearly dry, wet, dry. The "shall i change tyres" was a question everyone was asking themselves, pretty much before every race.
A big thank you to Jonathan for his ready built losi shocks with S4 set droop and dampening Saved me a lot of trial and error
I think the track was brilliant, it had bumps, it had smooth bits, it flowed, it had bits that you had to ease off or it would bite you. The best bit was turn one. I had my doubts seeing the bumps on it, but if you went full tilt and got it right on the inside the reward was huge. Go full tilt and miss the inside, you were punished. Unless of course you were Andy and had George "3 Lion Test Series Wicket Keeper" Fairwether there to catch you mid flight and return you safely onto the track with nothing but 0.1 seconds loss of time. Brilliant.
I lent out: 1 pack of LiPo saddles. 1 new set of Rulux Rears with Ballistic Greens; 2 x Stick Pack LiPo's, front associated Hex's and gave away some ol' Kyosho bits. I borrowed 1 full set of Losi shocks, some pliers, 2 nut drivers (one of which I still have) and Tyre glue, some of which Coastal still has.
Looking forward to the next one, where I am sure a deluded sense of granduer and big fall back to earth awaits!
A big thanks to Coastal. Linda, Paul and the posse for making it another very enjoyable day. The commentary had it's usual curses which keeps it all the more interesting. Having said that, I think you may want to have a look at the electronic gremlins that keep shouting something about 14 seconds!!!
See you soon, when I hope there will be one dog based movie mini causing a do-gooding beetle based movie some serious inconvenience!!!
A HUGE THANKS to Linda & Paul for their flawless running of the meeting, which enabled yours truly to concentrate (for want of a better word!) on his racing. An excellent track, a pot pourri of weather and bags of close racing- what more could you want!
Congratulations to Andy 'The Clark' for (another!) maximum in 4wd, and to Jonathan for his 'Clarkesque' skills in bagging top spot in the 2wd.
A little disappointed again with the turn-out, but perhaps they will improve as the series continues, as I hope the Regionals will from now on. On this subject, i know that the few clubs that exist in the EoE are all struggling at the moment, but the drivers are there- it just needs each individual to make an effort to support the off-road scene, whether this be at club level, the SEN or Regionals.
Anyway, another grand days racing, and thanks to all who attended, and to all the Coastal crew for all their hard work.....oh, and congrats to batt winners Mark and Simon -the lipos will be with you asap!
Thanks to those that lent me stuff on sunday - much appreciated
Well done to the Coastal crew for putting on a great event, Andy & Jon, both looked super quick and composed...
Great meeting - the standard of driving was superb all day (illustrated by the quality of the driving in the 4wd B final between Jim & Phil - brilliant to watch).
It's a bitter pill to swallow but driver of the day for me was Mr Hubbard - he moved onto the next level yesterday. I went racing not expecting to compete with 'Team Horn', but to enjoy battling with BenH, Zipper, Phil, Jim, etc. Had some great races with the others but don't think I got within half a lap of Hubbard all day. We've got our work cut out
A big thank you to all involved in the organisation of the day.
It was a brilliant track layout that had a lot of interesting features and produced some great racing during the day.
The weather added an extra bit of spice to the day too, it would have ruined the day in timed racing, but with the SEN format it just made it more fun, a credit to the system I think.
See you all soon,
Andy
Edit: The highlight of my day has got be Johnboys MASSIVE paddy after the final... for me, it even beat BenH's magnificent effort with his comedy floating front end, just.
I'll go along with whats already been said, great day, very well run meeting, as always, the weather just made it more fun, although having the use of the air-line might help to take the edge off of wet weather
Well done to Jon and Andy ( I will stop you getting a max score at some point this year
Drive of the day must go to young Mr Hubbard, unless we find out that someone else was driving for him

That wasn't a paddy, you'll know a paddy when you see one (the car normally gets broken) that was only an expression of frustration at incompetence

I think that was me Ben, George caught my car 3 laps on the trot, not only saved me some time, but saved me a lot of money in spares, so thanks George
He almost seemed upset when I got the corner right
The good banter made it for me, and there was plenty of it around! Hubbards floating front end was brilliant... I just wish he hadn't spotted it and the front end of his car had fallen off during a race!
The track was great... and nothing more satisfying than hitting full speed travelling downhill powered with a 4.5!
Yep a good days racing was had by me. The track was surprisingly technical for 2wd with the front wheels continually wanting to be off the ground while acclerating up the hill. Had some great races with Simon, George and Colsie.
thanks to all at Coastal for a superbly run meeting.
Congrats to Andy for another clean sheet in 4wd, I'll be back at LBC with 4wd, as typically my esc arrived in the post today!!
Thought BenH had gone up a level in driving on Sunday with some superb pace and consistency. Syrup is the answer in shocks!!!!
1.One is always on a strange road, watching strange scenery and listeningto strange music. Then one day, you will find that the things you tryhard to forget are already gone. (wow power leveling)
2.Happiness is not about being immortal nor having food or rights inone's hand. It’s about having each tiny wish come true, or havingsomething to eat when you are hungry or having someone's love when youneed love.
3.Love is a lamp, while friendship is the shadow. When the lamp is off,you will find the shadow everywhere. Friend is who can give youstrength at last.
4.I love you not for who you are, but for who I am before you.
5.Love makes man grow up or sink down.
6.If you can hold something up and put it down, it is calledweight-lifting; if you can hold something up but can never put it down,it's called burden-bearing. Pitifully, most of people are bearing heavyburdens when they are in love.
7.We all live in the past. We take a minute to know someone, one hour tolike someone, and one day to love someone, but the whole life to forgetsomeone. Wow gold
8.One may fall in love with many people during the lifetime. When youfinally get your own happiness, you will understand the previoussadness is kind of treasure, which makes you better to hold and cherishthe people you love.
9.When you are young, you may want several love experiences. But as timegoes on, you will realize that if you really love someone, the wholelife will not be enough. You need time to know, to forgive and to love. All this needs a very big mind.
10.When tomorrow turns in today, yesterday, and someday that no moreimportant in your memory, we suddenly realize that we r pushed forwardby time. This is not a train in still in which you may feel forwardwhen another train goes by. It is the truth that we've all grown up.And we become different.
11.If you leave me, please don't comfort me because each sewing has to meet stinging pain.
12.Don’t forget the things you once you owned. Treasure the things youcan’t get. Don't give up the things that belong to you and keep thoselost things in memory. world of warcraft gold
13.I love and am used to keeping a distance with those changed things.Only in this way can I know what will not be abandoned by time. Forexample, when you love someone, changes are all around. Then I stepbackward and watching it silently, then I see the true feelings.
14.Men love from overlooking while women love from looking up. If love isa mountain, then if men go up, more women they will see while womenwill see fewer men.
15.Good love makes you see the whole world from one person while bad love makes you abandon the whole world for one person.
16.We shall always save a place for ourselves, only for ourselves. Andthen begin to love. Have no idea of what it is, who he is, how to loveor how long it will be. Just wait for one love. Maybe no one will comeout, but this kind of waiting is the love itself.
17.Is there anyone who hasn't suffered for the secret love? We alwaysthink that love is very heavy, heavy and could be the heaviest thing inthe world. But one day, when you look back, you suddenly realize thatit's always light, light. We all thought love was very deep, but infact it's very thin. The deepest and heaviest love must grow up withthe time. cd keys
18.In this world, only those men who really feel happy can give women happiness
19.If a woman is not sexy, she needs emotion; if she is not emotional, sheneeds reason; if she is not reasonable, she has to know herselfclearly. coz only she has is misfortune.
20.An unacceptable love needs no sorrow but time- sometime for forgetting.A badly-hurt heart needs no sympathy but understanding.
21. I know someone in the world is waiting for me, although I've no idea of who he is. But I feel happy every day for this.
22.In your life, there will at least one time that you forget yourself forsomeone, asking for no result, no company, no ownership nor love. Justask for meeting you in my most beautiful years.
23.When you feel hurt and your tears are gonna to drop. Please look up andhave a look at the sky once belongs to us. If the sky is still vast, clouds are still clear, you shall not cry because my leave doesn't takeaway the world that belongs to you. wow power leveling
24.Idon't think that when people grow up, they will become morebroad-minded and can accept everything. Conversely, I think it's aselecting process, knowing what's the most important and what's theleast. And then be a simple man.
